DEATH OF BUSINESS MAN
GUN FOUND BESIDE BODY. HAD BEEN IN ILL-HEALTH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night Walter John Watson, a well-known city jeweller and optician, was found dead on the Cashmere Hills this afternoon. There was gunshot wound in his head and a shotgun was lying beside the body. At the inquest to-day it was stated that Watson had been in ill-health and depressed for the past year, and had been for four weeks in hospital at Hanmer for a recuperative rest. He had left the hospital to receive dental treatment and was to have returned to Hanmer to-day. The inquest was adjourned.
