In the new British attempt to secure the long-distance record, SquadronLeader Gayford and Flight-Lieutenant Bett, when making their flight from Cranwell to Capetown, will broadcast throughout the flight on a wave-length of 32.71. The Air Ministry invites listeners to watch for the signals. The flyers are using a giant FaireyNapier plane with a Robot pilot, which the Air Force has nicknamed “Iron Mike.” They are to start when the conditions are favourable after November 8.
