CENTRAL AUSTRALIAN GOLD

LITTLE WORK AT GRANITES.

FALL IN PRICE OF SHARES.

By Telegraph—-Preu Aisn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Nov. 8.

The official report on The Granites goldfield, Central Australia, says that little work has been done yet, but samples from several of the claims - showed gold. There are 80 men on the field and the only well is making 140 gallons of water daily, though some of this may result in the soakage of the recent rains. Shares in The Granites . companies have fallen. For instance, Chapman Company shares have dropped from 4s 6d to 2s 3d, and The Granites Company (£5 paid) for £22 to £l5, but at the close there was a stronger tone on the exchange.
