During the week-end a grocery store at the corner of Wellsbourne, and Rangitikei Streets, owned by Mr. E. Howard, was burglariously entered and £45 in cash and notes stolen. As there were no banking facilities available on Saturday night at the conclusion of business, Mr. Howard .hid the day’s takings in a place which he considered would offer sufficient seeur? ity. When he and his wife left for church last night the money was intact, but was removed during their ab&cnce» Nothing else in the shop was taken, a handbag containing £2, which was in a conspicuous position, being left intact.
