ELTHAM PIPE BAND

ANNUAL MEETING HELD.

The Eltham Highland P-pe Band on Friday held its annual meeting, Mr. J. L. Campbell presiding over a good attendance. Mr. Campbell congratulated the band, on its cohesion. It had fulfilled all engagements when called on to perform. There were only three big events during the year. For the Caledonian sports, Eltham had turned out in strength and compared more than favourably with, other bands. At the contest the band had performed particularly well, and the points scored on the military side reflected great credit. The band’s Anzac Day parade was satisfactory. The bal-ance-sheet showed very small receipts, but he hoped there were better times ahead. The receipts were £lO la and £ll 14s 8d was spent. Pipe-Major Morrison said he had no fault to find with the band up to the contest. The results achieved proved that the bandsmen had put their hearts into their work. They deserved a better position.
