DEMONSTRATION AFTER MATCH.
HEATED COMMENT FROM CROWD.
Wellington, Last Night. ’Feeling aroused during a Rugby football match on Saturday between Alarist and Miramar ivas -Tried- to unusual lengths. At the conclusion of the game heated exclamations were heard among the crowd and the players were excited. A section of the crowd followed the Alarist players to the sheds and it was some little time before the crowd dispersed. Towards the close of the game, which was played on the polo ground at Miramar, Hull, a Miramar forward, was ordered off by the referee, Air. R. Paton. When the final whistle sounded Hull returned to the field and mixed with the players. An altercation then developed between two players, who were soon separated by members. A crowd of the supporters of both teams surged round and there was a good deal of wild talk. A small section of the crowd hung round waiting outside the Alarist dressing sheds, but the players were allowed to leave quietly. For a while the referee was the centre of attraction. -Some of the crowd appeared to be rankled over the ordering off of a Miramar, player, giving expression to their feelings.
