OVER £BOO,OOO SANCTIONED.
NEW LOANS AMOUNT TO-£.10,000.

At a meeting of tho Local Government Loans Board 22 applications for loans totalling £871,388 were dealt with. Loans amounting, to . £811,106 were sanctioned, including £790,300 for renewals, £lO,OOO new loans, and £10,866 loans for restoration of earthquake damage. The sum of £623, the unexpended balance of previous loans, was authorised to be used for other purposes. The balance, £60,222, was eithe declined or referred back. to the local authority concerned for further consideration.
