BUS-DRIVER TO STAND TRIAS. MAN’S DEATH AT MASTERTO3G By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night, The : sequel to. a level-crossing accident which occurred on the evening of April 9, when a bus conveying a party of young people to a dance at Kaituna was struck by the mail train from Wellington at Renall Street, was heard in court to-day. The driver of the bug, James Thomas Rutherford, was charged before Messrs S. L. P. Free and C. M. Bowden, justices of the peace, with negligently driving a motor vehid* thereby causing the death of Frank Muirhead Gillespie, a passenger in th* bus. Rutherford pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Wellington.
