PERSONAL ITEMS AND FLAG 500.
Mr. R. A. Law, who has been visiting his brother at the Hauraki Plains, has returned. Messrs. C. and J. Tonkin, Uruti, paid a brief visit here last week and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Henjiie. Mr. G. Johns, Kiwitahi, who formerly resided with his parents at Riverlea, is paying a visit here and is the guest of relatives, Mr. and Mrs. T. McMillan. Mr. W. Carrington is on a brief visit to Auckland, and is expected home this week.
Mesdames E. L. Abbott and J. Hessell are visiting Auckland. Mr. K. Behl is home from the Hawera hospital after what promised to be a lengthy - stay-there. The opening session of the series of ten nights of flag 500 being conducted by the Anglican Church social committee took place In the parish hall on Tuesday, when there: was an attendance of 40 players. Three tables tied with 16 'points each. Mr. and Mrs. J. Fary, Mrs. J. W. H. Gardner and Mrs. E. W. Blackwell won the prizes. A short dance was'held to music supplied by Mrs. I. Evans.
