A new license was granted Bose Ann Leslie for the Waitara Hotel, Waitara. Renewals of licenses were granted on the application of Samuel McAfee (Bridge, Waitara), F. Wallis (Royal, New Plymouth), T. S. Jones (White Hart, New Plymouth), Michael Fahy (Masonic, Waitara), Adam Lile (Red House, New Plymouth), W. D. Graham (Criterion, New Plymouth), E. O. Meredith (Terminus, New Plymouth), H. J, D. The wholesale licenses of Devine and Co., New Plymouth, and Hardwicke and Robertson, Ltd., were renewed. Mr. Tate commented on the lightness of the work, on account of the fact that no objections were raised by the authorities. The sanitary inspector had made an inspection and the sanitary condition of the buildings was quite satisfactory. The inspector of police reported that with the exception of minor repairs which had been effected all the hotels were in a good state. In the past 12 months they had all been well conducted. On behalf of the committee, Mr. Tate said it gave them great satisfaction that the business before them should have been completed in so short a time owing to the satisfactory conduct of licensed premises during the past year and the absence of any questions likely to cause difficulty in granting a license.
