CHILD DONE TO DEATH
BLOWS AT BACK OF HEAD
LENGTH OF IRON PIPING POUND.
UPPER HUTT DISTRICT TRAGEDY.

Vera Forster, aged 41 years, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Forster, Upper Hutt, was found about 9 p.m. to-night in circumstances pointing to murder in scrub at the end of Cruicksliank Road, Maori Bank, beyond Upper Hutt. The child was missing since about 10 o’clock this morning, and-a search party of about 40 set out at about 1 p.m. A piece of iron piping was found near the body, and a blow or blows had been received at the back of the head. The body was taken to Upper Hutt police station before removal to the morgue at Wellington. Detective McLennan and Sergeant Butler, of Petone, are investigating.
