BOY CRASHES THROUGH ICE
WOULD-BE RESCUERS LOST CHRISTMAS GIFT TRAGEDY DOG BRINGS HELP TOO LATE By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyrizht Rec. 10.30 p.m. Vancouver, Dec. 20. A fearful pre-Chrlslmas tragedy overtook a small community ten miles from Muskagon, Michigan, to-day. Orville Oman, aged 7, received a gift of a hand sleigh and took it to an ice-oovered lake for a try-out. Suddenly a crash came, and the horrified parents saw him disappear. The father, mother and a brother tried to rescue the boy successively and Were drowned. Then three young men, brothers named Morgan, rushed to the rescue, taking a boat with them, but this overturned and all were drowned.
The Morgans’ dog raced frantically home and made such a fuss that it’attracted help. The seven bodies were recovered.
