REPORT RECEIVED IN HOUSE. DEFINITION OF ITS AIMS. i By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Recd. 10.25 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 21. The police report on the New Guard was tabled n the New South ‘Wales Assembly to-day. It showed tliat the Guard was well organised with the object of maintaining the essential services in the levent of a breakdown through a general strike. It would not interfere in strikes and would only function in any case if the police were overwhelmed and there was an attempt to secure control of Parliament by other than constitutional means.
