BOWLING AT NEW YEAR

TAIRANAKI CENTRE TOURNEY DRAW FOR FIRST DAY’S PLAY. CONDITIONS OF THE MATCHES. A large number of entries have been received for the annual New Year bowling tournament to be held at New Plymouth under the control of the northern members of the Taranaki Bowling Centre executive. On the first day, January 1, there will be three games, each of 21 heads, the first game to commence at 9 o’clock and the second at 1 o’clock. On January 2 two games, each of 16 heads, will be played in the morning, commencing at 8.45. Association rules will bq adhered to. In the event of section ties, seven heads will be played in order to discover the section winner, the venue to be the green on which the section is then playing. Semi-finals and finals will be of 51 heads on the "sudden-death” principle; these ' will be played on the Fitzroy green.
