EVIDENCES OF TRAGEDY. i TRACKS OF ALLIGATORS. • .A report has been received from Constable McCann, of Daly River, Northern Australia, that lie had patrolled Hermit Hill to the plaoe where Herbert Watts - is alleged to have been speared. The constable found bloodstained clothing with parts cut out. It is believed that Watte cut the clothing to enable him to withdraw the spears. Two hundred yards from the spot, a place was found where a body apparently had been lying for some time after death. Alligator tracks from the spot to the lagoon were also found. There were also marks which indicated that a body had been dragged into the .water. A search was made for the body without pucceas. .»
