TARATA NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent). The Tarata school concert and dance was held on Tuesday night. It was very well attended. The concert programme did great credit to both thd children and Mr. Whimp, who was ably assisted by Miss Ethel Higgina. Mr. Horace Higgins was master of ceremonies for the dance which took place after eupper. Music was supplied for the dance by Mrs. Sid. George and Mr. Frank Julian. Misses Eva Askew and Ethel Higgin* played extras. Aliases C. Paterson and Ethel Higgins played the accompaniments for the concert. The cake competitions were won by Master Jack Topping 1 and Mr. Horace Higgins 2. . Air. Frank Julian, Inglewood, is the guest of Mr. J. Press‘for a fortnight. Miss Jean King, who was the guest of her parents during, the week, has returned to Kohiti Road, Tariki. Mrs. Watson and Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Otoaroa, were visitors to Tarata for the concert on Tuesday night. , . There was a large cortege at the funeral of the late Tommy Waara, which took place at tho Tarata cemetery on Monday. . . Mr. and Mrs. Hector Crowe were visitors to Matau test week-end.
