RECORD DISTANCE FLIGHT

CONGRATULATION OF AMERICANS British Official Wireless. Rcc. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Aug. 1. The newspapers warmly congratulate the American airmen Boardman and Polando, who by flying non-stop from New York to Constantinople set up a new long-distance record, which will doubtless be recognised by the International Aeronautical Federation. The record was previously held by Captain Costcs and Bellontc, France, who flew 4900 miles from Paris to China. The calculated distance flown by Boardman and Polando is 4984 sea miles.
