MUSIC WEEK, 1931.
OPENING NEXT SUNDAY. The final rehearsal of Haydn s magnificent oratorio “The Creation' indicated that next Sunday’s opening performance of the 1931 festival will reach as high a standard as did last years singing of “The Messiah.” The programme for the later concerts will be reviewed next week but it is anticipated that the festival will be more comprehensive, of higher artistic merit and will cover a wider field than the fine effort of last year. The issue of the handy little ■booklets of subscribers’ tickets has proved most popular and the committee are sanguine that the spade-work of last year will bear good fruit and that this year's festival will succeed in maintaining the interest'in music which, has been awakened in ths community-
