SOCIAL EVENING HELD.
An enjoyable comhig-of-age party in honour of Miss Roiia Howell and Mr. W. Smith was given by their parents in the Urenui hall recently, when 150 o-uests from all part 6 of the district were entertained. The hall was prettily decorated for the occasion. Most of the evening was devoted to dancing, the music being provided by .Miss Jean Handley and Mr. N. Edwin. Mr. C. Henwood was master of ceremonies. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss K. .Zimmerman and Mr. H. Baker. During the evening Mr. Higgintou rendered songs, and recitations were given by Mr. Murich. During supper Miss Howell and Mr. Smith were each the recipients of a gold key, the presentation being made by Mr. Geo. Loveridge. PERSONAL. Messrs. F. Candy and Hayward, who have been visiting Mr. W. J. Freeth, Pukearuhe, have returned to Ngarua. Miss Barbara Huse, who has been spendimr a short holiday as the guest ,f Misses Mooney, Waitoitoi, has returned to Onaerb.
