DRILLING FOR OIL
GAS PERSISTS. AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The weekly report of. the New Plymouth (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Ltd., dated February 23, 1931, states: —Depth 1490 ft; cased to 1450 ft; formation, mudstone with layers of sandstone; remarks, gas showing is steadily increasing. • REPAIRS AT BLENHEIM WELL. The Blenheim Oil Well Reclamation Company, Ltd., report that since last report time has been occupied in examining the drill stem, and where necessary cutting off old threads and re-screwing the pipes. A flat-faced mill has been made, and on Monday next will be run into the hole for the purpose of rectifying tlie damage to the casing reported last week.
