BA DSTART IN HURDLES
FULL MARK FROM END TO END. The Ohawe Hurdles proved a fiasco, Royal Acre and Denier being caught up in the tapes and taking no part in the race, while Full Mark led practically from end to end and never looked in danger of being headed. Tenacre was £6 better backed than Royal Acre, but only t £733 went through the machine.
Denier delayed the start, and when the field was finally dispatched Royal Acre and Denier on the outside were hung qp. Go'blin Market was first to move, but Full Mark ran to the front coming into the straight and led past the stands from Goblin Market , and Tenacre. The field closed up slightly five furlongs from home, but the order suffered no change down the back. Tenacre threw out a challenge to Full Mark, but the pacemaker was only being given a breather, and once over the. filial ob-stacle-drew away again to win by two lengths from Tenacre, with three-quar-ters of a length to Goblin Market. Fine Acre was still further btick. , . ■ Full Mark won with a lot in hand, and it will take a big rise in weight to keep him biick to. this field, to-mor-row. Tenacre rah a fair race, but more patiently handled,- Goblin Market would have been closer at the finish. Fine Acre lacked racing condition,. but ran along nicely and is sure to win before very long. Royal Acre appeared to be a trifle on the big side. I -fer-—=====s===ST!
