BREAKING-UP FUNCTIONS.

WAITEIKA SCHOOL CONCERT.

The annual • Christmas tree function was held on Thursday ifight in the school room At Clement’s Mill, Waiteika.Road. The school children had the school room decorated, in readiness for the festivities. In the middle Was a large Christmas tree laden, witli presents for ill'children. Even the babies of Te KiH Afire included in this seasonal-treat. An industrious band of ladies prepared a ffeapt both bountiful and splendid. After games on the laWn the children assembled in the room arid sat around thb tree at tables laden with dainties. Gaily-coloured paper hats worn by all added, to the festril appeirhnee. Just as afternoon tea was finished Santa Claus arrived and was warmly Welcomed by the. children.- After a short chat Father Christmas proceeded to distrbute the presents from the - tree. Air Father Christinas left, the school fillied round arid gave him a, rousing send-off. Altogether the party was. a great success.
