FLYING FATHER CHRISTMAS

VISIT TO ALTON SCHOOL. Father Christmas has evidently dispensed with his sleigh and reindeer and to keep up with the times'now does his annual visiting by aeroplane. He made his first call yesterday when he suddenly appeared over Alton and alighted most auspiciously in an adjacent paddock to that in which the Alton children were holding their breaking-up ceremony.

Descending from the plan# clad in his latest suit of crimson and white and with a bulky bag he immediately drew around him an excited and cheering host of young folk eager to have a close .view of this remarkable hero.
