GORED BY A BULL
BOY SAVAGELY ATTACKED. SEVERE INJURIES INFLICTED. An eight-year-old son of Mi*. Nelson Hill was conveyed to the Napier hospital last week, having been badly gored by a bull at Taradale. The boy, with another lad, hod taken a number of cows down the road, as was usually his practice in the morning, and was returning with his companion when they came to a paddock in which was a bull. With prudence which was justified by the ensuing events the companion .went around the area in which the bull was grazing, keeping a wire fence between himself and the aninial. The boy Hill, however, decided to ignore the presence of the bull and proceeded across tho paddock. The boy had completed some distance of the walk when the animal, apparently infuriated, commenced to charge. The boy made a frantic endeavour to reach the fence and get through in time, but the bull raced him to it and, knocking him down, inflicted severe injuries with its horns. A doctor was immediately summoned and the boy was taken to the Napier hospital.
