DANCE AT KAIMIRO

SCHOOL FUNDS BENEFIT.

Another successful dance in aid of the Kaimiro school, funds was held in the Kaimiro hall''-,last night. The weather wa's in keeping with midwinter rather than midsummer but wgs, howeyer, ideal for dancing, and the large crowd, including a contingent from Egmont had a thoroughly . enjoyable evening. The Egmont Village orchestra, comprising Misses P. Street, J. Morton and Mr. A. S. 'Harper (piano), Mrs.' A. J. Dodunski, Messrs. G. Marsh and J. Hinz (violins) and Jones • (xylophone), provided excellent music, making the task of the master of ceremonies, Mr. L. Gop-? pertli, a very easy one. The orchestra, which had been formed at Egmont Village in order to assist in hall matters, was- making its first appearance at Kaimiro and it is certain’ if the wishqs of the residents are given effect to'it will not he long before it ;•is ■' heard there again., Misses M.-Mundt, Ashman and Mr. Ashman played, extras. Supper was provided by the ladies of the district, Mrs. C. F. ‘Mundt having charge of this department. She was assisted by Mesdames L, Gopperth and H. Shoemark. ■ After supper Mr. C. F. Mundt, chairman of the school committee, thanked all those present for the support given to the committee. He especially thanked the Egmont Village .Orchestra. He also paid a trbute to the teacher, Mr., W. Wilton, remarking that his interest was not only on the scholastic side but also in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the children. That was shown, by the fact that the school had. secured 100 per cent, proficiency successes and that in the few months that Mr. Wilton had been there the school was equipped with a swimming bath of which any country district might be proud. He had also to thank the residents of the district for. the whole-hearted manner in which they had worked towards constructing (the baths.
