INDIANS ATTACK POLICE
ONE KILLED; SEVERAL INJURED.
TAX COLLECTION RIOTING.

Rec. 8.30 p.m. Calcutta, Dec. 5. The police were attacked twice this week by villagers in the Saran district of Bihar and Orissa while assisting in collecting taxes. They were compelled to fire to disperse the mob of several thousands armed with spears who surrounded them. One rioter was killed and several injured, while a constable and some horses were hurt.
