CLAIM FOR INSURANCE
•WELLINGTON MAN’S CASE FAILS. NOT UNABLE TO ATTEND BUSINESS. Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Reserved decision was given for defendant to-day by Mr. E. Page, S.M., in a ease in which George Thomas Mas--Icm proceeded against the Tx>hdon and < Lancashire Fire Insurance Company for additional compensation which he considered due to him under an. accident and sickness policy with the company. _ The magistrate stated under the pen-icy-it was provided thav Maslem should receive insurance money should he be rendered totally unable; to attend to business of any kind ana be necessarily continuously confined to his - house as a result, inter alia’, of non-tubercular pneumonia. Maslem contracted pneumonia and as a result his heart was affected He had been paid full compen T sation for a certain time and part com- , pensation for a further four weeks, but claimed.full compensation for the full time.of his illness. / ■ The magistrate held that the evidence fell, short of establishing that Maslem was totally" unable to attend to business of any kind and was continuously confined to his house as. there 'were periods when he went to Auckland for a change and oh a motor trip to Wanganui. Mr. Page therefore Entered judgment for the company with costs.
