Hamilton, Last Night. ?: Judgment for ,plaintiff was entered for £lO in*an action for £5OO damages brought in the Hamilton Supreme Court to-day before Mr. Justice Herdman by Edwin Coubray, cinema camera- . man, against Alexander Markey, manamnrr director of Markey Films, Ltd., New” Zealand, for malicious persecution. The. action arose out of .Markey’s issuina a search warrant against Coubray and submitting his person and luggage to search, -Markey' having entertaind suspicions that Coubray was.posting away some- copies of a film the .property of, Markey Films.. His Honour held that Coubray had proved his case but said the damages in such a case could be only nominal as Coubray to some extent had precipitated i the whole thing. Coubray was awarded £lO, with £2l costs and disbursements.
