Four States have suffered an epidemic of bank closures due to various causes, in most instances smaller banks being affected by the closure of larger institutions with which they were associated. The difficulties of many seem due to a reaction of the banking trouble at Nashville, Tennessee, last week. To-day closure© are “reported of 35 Arkansas, two Illinois, four Missouri and six Kentucky institutions, and it is announced they will remain closed until the flood of unnecessary and heavy withdrawals tends to cease.
