OLDEST MARLBOROUGH RESIDENT
SUDDEN DEATH IN STREET,
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. An old resident of Marlborough, the Rev. John Henry Crump, F.Z.S., died suddenly in the (street this evening at the age of 64. The cause was disease of the heart. Bora in England in 1886 Mr, Crump emigrated to New Zealand and started farming at Vernon, Marlborough. After some years he studied for the Methodist ministry and in 1892 was ordained a minister. He volunteered for mission service in New Britain, where h: served for 12 years. Returning to New Zealand he settled at Ocean°Bay, Marlborough, founding a well-known school for boys, He lived there about 25 years, ten' years as a farmer and 15 yeays as. principal of the school. Three years ago he retired and the school was closed.. Mr. Crump leaves four daughters and- one son.
