TRIAL OF MADAME HANAU
CHARGES OF SWINDLE DENIED. 3000 CREDITORS REPRESENTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rcc. 10 p.m. Paris, Oct. 30. The trial of Madame Hanau and four associates on charges of fraud in connection with the Gazette du Franc has begun. Two lawyers representing 3000 creditors to-day. argued a claim for the re-cr-mination of the accounts, Mme. Hanau’s case being that there is no deficit and if there is any it arose out of the action of the police. The public prosecutor is having a hard fight for the continuation of the trial. “Have I swindled anyone asked Mme. Hanau. “No, you do not even say how much I ” The trial was adjourned.
