EDUCATIONAL CHANGES
CONFERENCE OF SCHOOL BOARDS. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A conference of secondary school boards is being called by the Wellington College Board of Governors to consider the recess committee’s report on education. The conference is to be held at Wellington on September 11 and 12. The suggestion that the conference be held came from the governors of the Otago High School in a telegram which stated that the board understood that education boards and technical boards conferences would be meeting in Wellington about September 10 and 11 to consider the report. The Minister had intimated that he would approve of_ a secondary board conference. Officers of the Education Department had suggested that education, technical and secondary, boards should meet separately about the dates mentioned and then combine on September 12, arrangements for the later meeting to be made by the education board. Deciding to agree to the suggestion the Wellington College Board of Governors appointed its chairman, Mr. W. H. P. Barber, and Mrs. E. W. Kane its representatives.
