WAREA SALE OF WORK
EFFORT BY ‘LADIES’ GUILD.
The Warea hall presented a very animated appearance yesterday on the occasion of the sale of work organised by the Ladies’ Guild ill aid of the church funds. W^f-h 6 .,. we 1l stocked stalls that greeted the eyes of the crowd present at the opening were evidence that the members of the guild had tackled their task of preparing for the function with thoroughness. The manner in which the stalls were depleted of their wares and the general success 'of the function must have proved a recompense for their work of the past few weeks. Over £4O was taken, the bulk of which will go to swell the church funds, as the expenses were kept down to a minimum. The stallholders comprised: 'Produce, Mesdamcs B. Anderson and B. Wells; irapery," Mrs. F. Sole, senr.; sweets, Misses F. Chapman and R. Wells; bran jind surprise, Mesdames G. Lewis and F. Sole, Junr.; afternoon tea, Miss M. Corbett and Mrs. C. Sole, assisted by a bevy of young ladies. Proceedings closed with a well attended euchre party and dance in the earning. Messrs. T. Fowlcs and E. Wood- . ward had charge of the euchre, while Mr. A. Sole was master of ceremonies. Messrs. C. Corbett and J. Moffitt were door stewards. Excellent music was provided by Miss Gilhoolcy, and supper was dispensed by the ladies of the guild. A number of competitions were held during the evening.' The ladies of the guild, and particularly the president (Miss M, Corbett) and the secretary (Mrs. F. Sole, senr.) deserve to be congratulated on the results achieved.
