AWAKINO GOLF CLUB
YEAR'S FINAL COMPETITION.
The Awakino Golf Club held the final competition for the year in the weekend. The whiner of the ladies’ trophy was Mrs. Gray, Messrs. J. K. Black and J. W. Bryant tied for the men’s trophy. In the play-off Mr. Bryant proved the victor. Afternoon tea was Served at the residence of the president of the club, Mr.'. Terrill, who presented the trophies which’had been won during the season. During the week the young folk of the district held a successful novelty dance in the- Awakino hall. The music was supplied by Renton’s orchestra and the hall, which had been decorated by the young folk, proved a fitting setting for a gay and animated scene. Supper was served.
