PULVERISED COAL ECONOMY
SUCCESS IN GERMAN STEAMER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright. Sydney, Aug. 26. By burning pulverised coal it is claimed that a saving of £2O a day lias been effected in the running costs of the new German freighter Strassfnrt, of the Hamburg-America lino, which reached Sydney on her maiden voyage. Her sister ship, the Butterfeld, burning ordinary coal, carries ten more firemen and consumes more fuel. The .Strassfurt will use Australian coal for. the return journey. '- It is understood that the Manly ferries will insfal plants and use pulverised coal.
