PROTEST AT GAMING BILL

PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER'S VIEWS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, August 13. The Christchurch Presbytery to-day passed resolutions of protest against the Gaming Bill provisions. The Moderator, the Rev. Paterson, said: “I cannot see any difference in betting on the totalisator or with a bookmaker. I would rather bet with a bookmaker myself because then the Government would not get any revenue. The!talk about revenue is anyway just dust in the eyes of the public.”
