SHORT WAVE TRANSMISSION
| NEW STATION AT DA VEN TRY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.m. London, Aug. 9. A piece of land adjoining the existing Dav entry stations has been purchased by th« British Broadcasting Company for the erection of a short wave transmitting station powerful enough to reach the furthest parts of the Empire. Listeners overseas may be asked to pay five shillings yearly to the British Broadcasting Corporation when this station is built, says the Ncws-Chroniele.
