HEAD OF THE RIVER RACE
DISQUALIFICATION OF St.' HOOLS. By Telegraph-Press Assn.— Copyright. Sydney, Aug. 2. . It was announced yesterday that the Sydney High School, winners of the last Head of the JUver race, were to have the title taken from them. Sydney Grammar School was also disqualified, in spite of the fact that the school did not have a crew in the finals. The action is said to have followed a secret report by a committee of the masters of the great public schools on alleged irregularities an the training methods of the schools. The title of Head of the River goes to St. Joseph’s Colege. This decision, however is to be reviewed next week. Now the Sydney High School , has announed its retirement from the great public school sports activities until the good name of the famous school is cleared.
