CUNNINGHAM’S FIRST MISHAP FORCED STOP NEAR LONGREACHRec. 1.30 a.m. Sydney, Aug. 1. The aviator Mr. A. T. Cunningham, flying to England, has had his first misforced landing in a swamp nearing Longreach. He spent the night in the open. It was bitterly cold. He reached Longreach to-day. Mr. Cunningham explained the mystery concerning his identification 'he did not- want his relations to know about his big adventure. He has no intention of trying to beat Mr. Bert Hinkler’s record.
