PRISONER CHANGES PLEA
GHH. CTHA.WSBS IX THE I By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, July 31. Unusual circumstances apparently influenced a prisoner to reverse his plea of not guilty when he appeared for trial to-day. The prisoner was William Marshall Forbes, aged 28, charged with indecent assault on a girl of 18, and with committing an indecent act with intent to insult. When the girl entered the witness box she partly collapsed and was unable to give evidence. The court adjourned to enable her to recover, but upon the resumption accused’s counsel announced that he would plead guilty to the second charge. The Crown Prosecutor agfeed and accused was remanded for sentence.
