AUCKLAND CRITICISM OF BUDGET By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, July 31. Tho Auckland Chamber of Commerce Council, after considering the Budget proposals, passed a resolution expressing the strongest disapproval of the increased tariffs and taxes and declaring that the interests of the country demanded serious economies iri administration and social services, involving a curtailment of expenditure in all departments. The chamber adopted the committee report advocating an early downward revision of the duties on Empire wheat and flour, and the abolition of the sliding scale.
