ST. MARY’S HALL DANCE

YOUNG PEOPLE'S FUNCTION. About 70 couples enjoyed dancing last evening to the music of Smith’s Melody Boys’ orchestra, the occasion being a dance in St. Mary’s Hall, New Plymouth, under the auspices of the St. Mary’s Young People’s Social Club. The dance was a great success. Aliss D. Howard Webb’s pupils gave an exhibition of the one-step (Aliss N. Whitehead and Mr. B. Collinge) and foxtrot (Miss K. Morey and Mr. R. Whitwell). Among those present were Captains Al. C. McGregor and N. E. Chandler, and Lieut. J. M. Buckeridge, the visiting airmen. The masters of ceremonies were the Rev. Fordham Clarke and Mr. Basil Hurst. The ladies’ committee in charge of the ©upper arrangements included Misses F. Broad, W. James, Al. Smith and Al. Knott. Mr. W. Jones and Air. B, Collinge (secretary) handled the other arrangements.
