Results are:— Essex beat Middlesex. —Essex, in. the first innings, made 263 (Peebles took 7 wickets for 77) and in the second lost two wickets for 60. Middlesex, in the first innings, made 257 (Hearne 74; Nichols took v’ne wickets for 116). Essex won on the first innings. Surrey beat Kent. —Kent, in the first innings, made 317 (Woolley 110, Ames 84), and in the second lost one for 131. Surrey, in the first innings, made 537 (Sandham 88, Squires 117, Peach 111). Surrey won on the first innings. Sussex beat Hampshire. —Sussex, in the first innings, made 537 (Cook “278, Langridge 85). Hampshire, in the first innings, made 254 (Bowley took, five wickets for 69) and followed on, losing two for 83. Sussex won on the fiict. innings. Nottingham b-at Derby.— Derby, in the first innings, made 286 (Smith S 3; A. Staples took 5 wickets for 75), and in the second Jost six wickets for 252 (Smith 105). Nottingham, in the first innings, made 301. (A. Staples 60). Nottingham won on the first innings.

Gloucester drew with Worcester. — Gloucester, in the first innings, made 489 (Daere 223). Worcester, in the first innings, lost one for 70. The match was abandoned (drawn). Glamorgan beat Yorkshire.—Glamorgan, in the first innings, made 262, and in the second 113 (Verity took nine wickets for 60). Yorkshire, in the first innings, made 208 (Mitchell 62: Ryan took five wickets for 83) and in the second loot none for 110 (Holmes 67). Glamorgan won on the first innings.

Lancashire beat Warwick.-—Lanca-shire, in the first innings, loot five wickets for 504 and declared (E. Tyldesley 256 not out, Tddon 101). Warwick, in the first innings, made 159 (Macdonald took six wickets for .81) and followed on, losing seven wickets for 154. Lancashire won on the first, innings.

Somerset beat Leicester. —Leicester, in the first innings, made 259 and in the second 231. Somerset, in the first innings, lost nine wicketfl for .439 and declared (Longrigg 205), and in. the second lost two for s">. Somerset won by eight wickets.
