Broughton, however, forced. From a loose scramble in front of the goal W. King scored, Maku adding the points. Waimate backs gave a good display of passing and kicking. Another hot attack carried play to the line. K. Broughton secured but he was swept back and had to run back over the line and force. Waimate continued the pressure. Full-back Broughton was again prominent in defence and T. Broughton led a great forward rush. Gray, D. Broughton and Rama figured in forward play near Waimate’s line, but tho visitors had io force twice. Heneri, who had been doing well in the vanguard, led a rush, kicked to near goal, picked up and grounded a further try. Edwards failed to convert. With ten minutes to go the game became fast. Rama started a good advance and with assistance sent the bail to near Waimate’s line, where Wineera saved. T. Rei secured from midfield and after a brisk run passed to Hikaka, who scored.
