CHEQUES TOO EASILY SECURED. SENTENCES AT CHRISTCHURCH. ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Juno 0. On. 36 chrges of obtaining goods and money by false pretences, William Thomas, aged 37, described as a printer, was sentenced by Mr, Justice Adams to three years’ reformative detention. The Crown said that Thomas was una bad criminal. He had served a, sentence in Australia. In a statement prisoner complained bitterly of the facility with which cheque books could be secured, Clifford Hoxinan, aged 20, lor breaking, entering and theft, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detentions
