WAITARA NEWS
Archdeacon Gavin referred on Sunday evening in St. John’s Church, Waitara, to. the death of Miss Maida Jones, an organist of the church at the Sunday morning services, and spoke of her courage during her long illness. The archdeacon told the congregation of a proposal to place a religious . picture above the organ in the church in memory of Miss Jones. Members of the congregation and friends of Mies Maida Jones were invited to subscribe towards its cost if they so desired. The Waitara Croquet Club held a card party at the pavilion on Thursday afternoon, when 7i tables were occupied. The prizes were won by Mrs. H. I. Chittenden and Mrs. L. H. Sampson.
