WOMEN’S DIVISION WORK.
REMITS UNDER CONSIDERATION. At Thursday’s meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union at Hawera remits to be considered at the next New Zealand conference were discussed. ' It was considered of vital interest that more suitable homes should be provided for women whose health had temporarily broken down. Under the present system such women were sent to a mental asylum, whereas a “half-way” house, provided adequate care and rest were given, would meet requirements. An invitation from the Toko branch for the president and members of the division to attend the branch’s 21st birthday party on June 12, was accepted. ■ The meeting also expressed disapproval of the scheme of placing private hospital nurses on the same footing as public hospital nurses in relation to examinations "
