GENERAL ITEMS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting on Tuesday evening, attended by 20 intending members, formed a Young Men’s Physical Chib. The programme of the club will be boxing and gymnastics. The following officials were elected: Supervisors, Messrs. V. Arthur and >S. Lovell; chairman of committee, Mr. C. Crossman;, secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. Burrows; committee, Messrs. J. Larmer, H. Burke and R. Crossman. The subscription was fixed at one shilling per .week, which it is intended to reduce after the money necessary for the purchase of the gear and boxing gloves has been raised. The nights for instruction were fixed for Mondays and Fridays at 7 o’clock. Twelve tables were occupied at the band’s weekly euchre party on -Monday evening with the following result: Miss D. Murfitt 1, Mrs. E. Lucas 2, Miss Young . onsolation; Mr. Flannery 1, Mrs. T. Lindsay (playing as man) 2, Mr. R. Bishell consolation.

Ross, O’Byrne, A. Chapman, J. Alleman, J. Trigger, W. Haselden, S. Peters, D. Drake, E. Stuck, N. Mackinder, C. Goble, R. Crossman and H. Burke; emergencies, Welsh (back) and K. Burrows (forward).

St. Andrew’s annual chrysanthemum show will be held in the parish hall next Wednesday. The show will commence in the afternoon and will be continued in the evening, when there will be a concert by the children. Sweets, cakes and produce stalls will be held and afternoon tea will be served. This show has been very popular and large numbers of beautiful entries are expected. Mrs. C. O'Carroll left this morning for Auckland, whence she will sail by the Makura to-morrow for Sydney on a visit to her_son, Mr. P. O’Carroll.
