COMPETITIONS FOR READERS. For the Daily News Christmas Number there will be two competitions, as follows:— ' ORIGINAL SHORT STORIES, First prize. £3 3 0 Second prize £2 2 0 One guinea will be paid for each short story that is published (other than prize-winning efforts). ; The maximum length is 2500 words, or about 2J columns of the News. ’ / TARANAKI PICTURES. We offer two prizes for photographs of views in Taranaki: First prize £2 2 0 Second prize . . £llO The decision of the editor in all competitions shall be final. M.S.S. should, if possible, be typed, and forwarded to the Editor, News, Box 119, New Plymouth. Make package flat and mark clearly, “Christmas Competition,” The last folio should bear the name and address of the competitor. Stamps must be enclosed for return of M.S.S., should it prove to be unsuitable. Entries close on November 27.
