Following the murder of a Chinese, Lee Chong, Yee Kyer, his compatriot, who was arrested on a charge of murder, committed suicide in his cell by hanging himself with a piece of blanket. Cheong, a gardener, was brutally murdered in a hut at Coolabah, near Warren. His throat was cut from ear to ear and his face was laid open by another cut. He was apparently killed after a terrific struggle with the murderer.
